Position Summary
This contract-funded position within the Juvenile Justice Institute will work closely with various individuals involved in Community-based Aid Programs and Juvenile Services to evaluate effectiveness and coordinate the program. This position will be responsible for project management, training, and technical assistance for youth programs across the state of Nebraska. This position will also train area agencies on use of the system. Must have ability to translate research into practices. This position can be located in either Lincoln, NE or Omaha, NE.
Job Duties
Responsibility Area:
Evidence-based Nebraska Project Management
Duties:
Project Management: This position provides project management and coordination of the Nebraska Evidence-based Nebraska project (EB NE). This position works closely with individuals and communities funded through the Nebraska Community-based Aid (CBA) and Juvenile Services (JS) Grant Programs.
Duties include:
  • Collaborating with research faculty to understand measures of effectiveness for community-based aid funded programs and juvenile services, and for organizing evaluation of community-based aid programs and monitor subsequent progress.
  • Serving as a liaison between researchers, programs, and the Nebraska Crime Commission (NCC) on the Juvenile Case Management System (JCMS).
  • Responsible for facilitating weekly project lab meeting.
  • Reviewing and testing community-based aid data system for usability and functionality.
  • Inform the NCC of any JCMS enhancement recommendations.
  • Cleaning and coding data, updating code books.
  • Updating EB NE website, and program, contacts.

Evidence-based Nebraska Training and Technical Assistance
Duties:
This individual will provide Training and Technical Assistance to CBA and JS funded programs on EB NE protocol and data entry. To meet the needs of the variety of programs in Nebraska, we anticipate daily communication with programs, and providing training using creative and innovative formats (in person, online, interactive).
Training will include understanding the Juvenile Case Management System (JCMS) and may require some travel within Nebraska and may include work with students in the EB NE lab to gather and enter survey data.
The person in this role is responsible for training and helping programs understand why data collection and entry is imperative for achieving outcomes.
This person assist programs with consistent data entry, understands and maintains data definitions, and helps programs understand how to achieve better outcomes.
Other tasks include:
follow up with any programs that are not entering data, creating and updating training videos.

Duties:
Reporting, Communication and Writing: The individual must have the ability to write and communicate clearly. Responsible for writing EB NE quarterly reports for submission to the funder, and briefly summarizing all technical assistance and training efforts. The individual is responsible for writing a minimum of 4 quarterly reports.
This person will assist with writing recommendations for EB NE evaluations and must be capable of drafting the annual report. Additional wiring responsibilities may be required, like producing reports on JCMS system use.
This role is also responsible for distributing reports to all funded programs and communicating about the results of the program evaluations.
